GUTTER MAINTENANCE
If you are reading this you probably
already have experienced some type of damage to your home. Gutter
maintenance is something homeowner's tend to think about only after
a problem occurs.
When
to check your gutters: If you have a gutter
cover system, then visually inspect from the ground once in the
fall and spring. If you have a high roof line, it's a good idea
to get a view down the roof lines at the corners. If you have
no cover system and have trees near your home, then you'll need
to check on a ladder every few weeks in the fall and every month
or two in the spring.
What to look for:
- debris in the gutter (wear gloves
when removing)
- debris in the downspout
- loose
spikes and clips joints that are not plumb
- downspouts becoming
unattached
- leaks when you run water through
the gutter after cleaning.
